Buying / Selling Guide

How does Buying and Selling Work?

Written by Setcircle Help

We know that sometimes you’re not looking for a rental — you’re looking to part with a prop or decor piece permanently, or purchase something outright for your own collection, production, event, or space.

That’s why we’re excited to share that Setcircle’s Alpha version includes a Buy & Sell feature, completely free to use — no transaction fees, ever.

Think of it as an elevated marketplace designed specifically for props, furniture, decor, and production-ready pieces. Whether you’re clearing out storage, rehoming a one-of-a-kind item, or searching for the perfect piece to own, Setcircle makes it easier to connect with people who understand the value of well-sourced objects.

How Buying & Selling Works

You can filter by listing type in the search tab to browse items available for purchase. When you find something that catches your eye, simply send an inquiry to the seller through Setcircle.

From there, the buyer and seller can coordinate directly to confirm item details, pricing, payment method, pickup timing, and location.

Payments & Pickup

For buy/sell listings, payments are arranged peer-to-peer between the buyer and seller. Setcircle does not process the payment, collect a commission, or charge transaction fees for these sales.

Local pickup is also coordinated directly between users. We recommend confirming all pickup details in advance, including the date, time, address or meeting location, item condition, and any loading or transport needs.

What to Keep in Mind

Items are listed by independent owners and may vary in age, condition, and availability. Listing photos and descriptions should accurately reflect the current state of the item, but buyers are encouraged to ask questions, request additional photos, and confirm details before completing a purchase.

Sellers are encouraged to be responsive, transparent, and clear about the item’s condition, dimensions, pickup requirements, and any relevant wear or damage.

Community Guidelines

Please remember to follow our community guidelines: be responsive, be punctual, communicate clearly, and treat each other with respect.
